God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house… God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives… God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war… God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them.

Mother

After only 37 years of being a son, what can I say about my mother? More than could be contained in this forum, I'm sure. As this project matures, I find it more difficult to keep my thoughts to a minimum. "What is the highlight?" "If I could say ONE thing." Thus, the problem, just one thing!

So, if I could share one thing about my mother it would be this, she is a woman of Faith. As a child growing up I remember the many times she sat and read her Bible before us. I'm not sure if it was everyday, but it was many days. It was ever before me both day and night.

I remember the night I made my choice to make Jesus my Savior... I got out of bed, around midnight, to talk to my mom and there she was, reading her Bible.

It is an image that will always live with me. I hope it is an image that will continue in my life and my children and their children.

The Word of God... It became flesh and dwelled among us.

peace.
